sjah83 «Residual» [ill's Piano Remix] and «Swamp Monitor» [inicolabug Remix] are two tracks that engaged me from the very first second. In overall terms, this is a precious 'revisited version' of the original and fantastic album by Mitoma. Favorite track: Residual [illl's Piano Remix].

about

"Mitoma invites a few global friends to reinterpret Satellite Hive—their 2012 audio escape with Daddy Tank—which continues to serve up fresh electrical manifests. A dozen tracks are on display via RMX as digitized mechanics spill into modular fissures.

“R4851 (Re-Arbeiten Rework)” kicks-starts a tailored industrialized swirl of glitched bass and rhythmic noise and the Mitoma’s fitting closure (“In Discordance”) transcends time and space through light keys, slight twitches and surreal melodic ambience. But it’s all of the in-between versions that makes this release so special. Noumen’s title track—redesigned as Cryptic Starcrisp Rmx —delves into classic Gescom terrain; its clunky percussion, faded horns and clip-hop sheen is pristine sonic abstraction. Technoid deformation occurs on Altered:Carbon’s “Chiral” remix—an industrial tweaking which gets the limbs rattling. Syndrôm (who also happens to run the Pavillon36 imprint) offers a slipper drum’n bass sliver on “Rawling 4851″ as Dissolved minimizes a spatial drum flow and emotive electronic tentacles on the “Chakici” Red Version. Nonima’s “Alpha Station” rendition trickles into refined dubspace interspersed with DSP beauty as Randomform shimmies his tranquilized low-end stretches into ambient waters.

Whether or not you have Satellite Hive in your collection, this remix selection can easily be approached as an entirely new body of work. A product of assembled and reassembled electronics that slices through thick robotic rhythms, Mitoma sets the groundwork for inspired creative buzz and RMX reaffirms its sonic trajectory."
